Anna Gromakowska graduated in 2002 from the University Of Physical Education in Katowice,
Poland with an MSc in Physiotherapy. Subsequently, she worked as physiotherapist in Therapeutic
Rehabilitation Facility (outpatient clinic) and, simultaneously, as taekwondo WTF instructor in WLKS
‘Kmicic’ in Czestochowa, Poland. She then moved to Therapeutic and Educational Facility where she
treated children with mental and physical disabilities such as Down’s syndrome, muscular dystrophy,
myelomeningocele and cystic fibrosis. In 2008 she relocated to Krakow, Poland and started
woking for the Polish Centre for Functional Rehabilitation, where she has had the
opportunity to treat a wide range of inpatients and outpatients with neurological conditions including
stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and ataxia. In 2014 she decided to acquire some
experience abroad and moved to the UK. She spent 2 years working as a locum physiotherapist in
varies NHS hospitals and private facilities. In 2014 she started her current band 6 post in Falls
Prevention Service at East Coast Community Healthcare.
Anna specialises in neurological physiotherapy and is a member of the Charted Society of Physiotherapy.
Her treatment is based on elements of Bobath Concept for Adults (basic course and two advanced
courses) and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation. She enjoys working with a variety of neurological
disorders at different stages of their rehabilitation and works closely with the patient and family to help the patient
achieve their goals.
Anna is a former member of the Polish Olympic team in taekwondo WTF.
Anna is our specialist neuro physio. She can treat patients in the home or in our rossis clinics.
